Tensor product

The operation $\otimes$ that combines state spaces of subsystems into a joint state space.

If one qubit is $|a\rangle$ and another is $|b\rangle$ , the joint (two-qubit) state is $|a\rangle\otimes|b\rangle$ .

Example

|0\rangle\otimes|1\rangle = |01\rangle.
