Bell state

A maximally entangled two-qubit state that exhibits strong measurement correlations.

Back to glossary

A Bell state is a standard example used to demonstrate entanglement.

A common one is:

Φ+=(00+11)/2.|\Phi^+\rangle = (|00\rangle + |11\rangle)/\sqrt{2}.

Measuring both qubits yields correlated outcomes.
